REMOTE ACCESSING YOUR NETGEAR ROUTER USING NETGEAR GENIE APP

You can access the your Netgear router easily from anywhere in the world through Netgear’s genie windows application. Netgear Technical Support suggests you to make an account and register your there as it can be handy sometimes and gives you great control over your network at any time and place.

This Netgear Technical Support will guide you through the process. Update your router’s firmware before proceeding.

Creating and registering your router for genie app:

1. Go to www.netgear.com/genie to download the latest version of the genie application.
2. Connect your computer to the router and launch the genie application from the computer.
3. A small login window will appear. Select Router Settings in that window.
4. Select Remote access in the Login as drop down menu and click on Sign up.
5. Enter the information in their respective fields and click Create button.
6. A confirmation window will appear and you will receive a confirmation email in the email account you have provided.
7. Head over to that email and click on the confirmation link to confirm your account.
8. Now in the login window, enter your Email and Password of the genie account and click on OK button.
9. If your router is not registered, the application will automatically detect it and will ask you to register your router.
10. After the registration of your router, a cloud icon will appear on the router settings which means that now you can remotely access your router.
11. Click on the OK button.

Now you can easily access your router from anywhere in the world using this genie account and application as long as your router and you are connected to internet. Just login through the genie application from any computer using genie account and select the Remote access under the Login as drop down menu.
